Originally from Chappaqua, NY, I first got interested in biomedical research in high school when I worked on developing nitric oxide nanoparticles at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. I followed this interest at Duke University, majoring in Biomedical Engineering (with a minor in economics for fun!). While my undergraduate research consisted mainly of experimentally validating protein-drug combinations for improved delivery, I wanted to grow my skills in mathematical modeling and statistical analysis. To this end, I started my PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering at Princeton, working with Dr. Engelhardt on modeling different types of data with Bayesian models to understand the behavior of individual cells. After a brief stint as a data scientist at IBM, I’ve returned to the Engelhardt group to work on developing models for protein engineering and am interested in exploring the application of machine learning to sustainability and climate change. Outside of the lab I love to cook with spices from around the world, play acoustic and electric guitar, learn new musical instruments, and play tennis.
